Fees & taxes

Who charges what — and who handles the tax

FindPE keeps the money path unusually clean: our fees and the project's funds travel through different rails, with different taxpayers. Here is exactly how it works.

FindPE's platform fee

We collect it via Stripe, and we are the taxpayer — any sales tax on our service is calculated at checkout (Stripe Tax) and remitted by us where we are registered.

Project funds

Held by Escrow.com and paid to your professional. They are the taxpayer for their services. FindPE calculates a ZIP-level estimate so you see it up front — the final amount is computed when the project is funded.

Escrow.com's fee

Paid by you, calculated by Escrow.com. The table below is a reference estimate; Escrow.com's own calculation is the source of truth at funding.

FindPE fees, line by line

Platform service fee$299 (or $149.50 with scoping discount)
Card processing fee2.9% + $0.30, capped at 3% — a separate, disclosed line at checkout
Bank transfer (ACH)$0 — FindPE absorbs it

The card processing fee is a separate, clearly-disclosed line item at checkout — it is a cost-recovery pass-through, capped at 3% to stay within card-network limits. ACH bank transfers pay nothing extra. Some card networks restrict surcharging for debit cards and certain states place limits on card fees; the cap and disclosure are designed with those rules in mind.
